Melbourne Branch

Melbourne Branch
The Renew Melbourne Branch provides a forum for people in the Melbourne region to share their interest in sustainability, including renewable energy, conserving energy, good building design and water conservation. These topics often have a practical slant and include members’ hands-on experience.
The Melbourne Branch Youtube channel can be found here.
At a recent meeting Prof. Malte Meinshausen, Associate Professor for Climate Science at the School of Earth Sciences, University of Melbourne outlined what a 200%+ renewable energy future looks like.
We meet on the unceded Wurrundjeri Land of the Kulin nations.
Meetings: Usually held monthly on the third Wednesday of the month from February to November. Please note the specific venue location and time for each event. Meetings commence at 7pm, and are generally held at;
- Swinburne University, Hawthorn Campus or
- The Energy Transition Hub (Melb Uni) in Carlton or
- RMIT, Building 80 in Swanston St in the CBD
The main focus of a meeting is a presentation by one or more guest speakers. There is plenty of opportunity for asking general questions to the group and socializing after the formal presentation.
There is normally no need to rsvp unless noted on the event page. Entry is free, but a gold coin donation is appreciated to help offset costs, and visitors are always very welcome at our events.
