Supporting a national home ratings and disclosure plan

Since 2019, state and Federal governments have been working towards better building energy performance and policies in a process known as the “Trajectory for Low Energy Buildings”. Renew supports the process and actively engages with the government as it develops.

One aspect of the Trajectory is work on home ratings tools and the framework for rating and disclosing home energy performance.

Renew strongly supports the principle of making energy ratings clear through a national, government-backed consumer ratings tool. There is furthermore a strong need for a mandatory disclosure system in which buyers and renters can receive meaningful information about home energy performance before buying or leasing.
