Passive houses for a changing climate

Speaker: Dr John Todd, director of Eco-Energy Options. Dr. Todd is a consultant on air quality specialising in wood smoke and energy in small scale (SME) and domestic. He is an Adjunct Professor at Edith Cowan University and lectured in energy and environmental management for over 30 years. He has an extensive research record.

Presentation:
His topic will be “Passive Houses in a changing climate” and will cover the changes needed in planning and construction standards over the next 100 years, to cope with;

  • Increased storms and higher wind speeds
  • Increased risk of flooding, sea level rise and storm surges
  • More frequent and more extreme hot and cold fronts and bush fire weather
  • Increased health risks
  • New insect and pests, etc.
