At the next meeting of Renew’s Hunter Region Branch this coming Bastille Sunday, we explore the everyday actions and changes an individual and household can make to sustain the revolution.

This revolution bears the name sustainability. It’s more than just an environmental issue.

It’s a revolution that will affect everyone and everything on the planet, influencing the way governments act, industries function and businesses behave. This revolution touches every aspect of all 7.6 billion lives on this planet: energy, transport, food-systems, population growth, healthcare, education, data management.

Like all big changes, it can be overwhelming and individuals can be paralysed with information overload. At our next meeting we will endeavour to bring the revolution back to the individual and household level.

Attendees will:

  • workshop the David Holmgren Retrosuburbia Work / Life Balance matrix to identify individual possible actions
  • review a suburban permaculture property design case study to explore ideas and areas of improvement at the household level
  • question and answer session with the brains trust.

Renew members form a vibrant network of people actively reducing their impact on the environment by making tangible changes to their homes and lifestyles, and sharing skills with people in their area. The local Hunter Region Branch meets at Wallsend Library on the second Sunday of the month.

We hope to see you there,

Alex Mills, Interim Convenor
Renew Hunter Region Branch
