Energy supply and severe weather

Renew wants your views on energy systems and extreme weather.

Heatwaves. Bushfires. Floods. Cyclones and gales.

The accelerating impacts of climate change are creating challenges for power lines, transformers and other energy infrastructure.

Have you ever wondered how resilient your energy supply is in the face of severe weather events? And have you thought doing something – like buying a battery or going offgrid – to increase your resilience?

Renew and the Total Environment Centre are exploring the role of household and local energy systems in creating a more resilient overall energy system in the face of climate change. As part of this, we are interested in understanding how people are thinking about this issue.

We have prepared a short survey: please tell us what you think, what you have done and what you’re planning. We will report on the results in July. Go to: surveymonkey.com/r/energyresilience
