This year AdaptWest, Resilient East, Resilient South, and Resilient Hills and Coasts have come together to bring residents of 20 South Australian Councils a series of webinars on a range of sustainability topics. First up we’ll be exploring ways to make your rental home more comfortable and cheaper to run. The webinar will be presented by the energy experts at Renew, who have been providing independent information on household sustainability for over 40 years. Be sure to bring along your questions! This year is a great time to take steps towards making your home and lifestyle more sustainable, yet it can be tricky to find trusted independent advice. To help, 20 councils in and near Adelaide are bringing residents a series of online events from the sustainability and energy experts at Renew, who have been providing independent advice for over 40 years.
In this session we’ll explain energy saving measures like draught proofing window coverings, and more efficient use of heating and hot water to help you find ways to reduce your energy bills, with tips on reading your bills and understanding your energy usage. We’ll also discuss strategies for approaching your landlord for appliance upgrades.
Come along to this event on 16 May. The event will run for 90 minutes from 6:30pm to 8:00pm, ending with 30 minutes of question time.

In this webinar Bryce Gaton will explain the basics of electric vehicle technologies and the gamut of electric transport options, along with their charging needs. He will show how they enhance (and not ‘ruin’) the long weekend, using examples from his long experience of driving battery electric vehicles. He will then touch on the coming emissions and fuel economy standards – and how in the near future these might revolutionise EV buying choice in Australia.
The talk finishes with a review of the current (and some soon to come) Australian options for buying new and second-hand battery electric vehicles and reliable sources of information.

To help, 20 councils in and near Adelaide are bringing residents a series of online events from the sustainability and energy experts at Renew, who have been providing independent advice for over 40 years.
As our climate shifts and the cost of energy fluctuates, designing our homes for resilience is more important than ever. In this session, Brett from Brett Aylen Architecture, will explore considerations in the design phase that make a huge difference to the resilience and performance of the final result.
