This is the first of a series of public forums about Sustainable Housing presented by the Toowoomba Branch of Renew in 2019: Biophillia: “The architecture of life”.

Presentation: How can my home and landscape improve my health and wellbeing? Biophilic Design identifies the specific connection(s) between nature and the benefits those connections provide us. It is about reconnecting with nature through a variety of mediums using all of our senses. Come along and learn how a healthy window of nature can easily be designed into our homes.

Speaker: Philip Dolan has 35 years’ experience in training and has been involved formally in sustainability since 1995 when he started doing energy ratings. He has presented to ATA and motor association groups on making your own biodiesel. He developed a household sustainability assessor course for the Federal Government and established Sustainable House Day in Wagga Wagga. He has also been a House Tour Guide in Sydney. He has presented on passive solar design to a couple of strawbale companies and evaluated the Hempcrete Australia training course. He has presented units of sustainability in the Cert IV in Building for the Master Builders Association (MBA) in NSW and is now a Training Provider for the MBA here in Queensland. He has presented the Green Living Course for architects and builders. He is a Training Provider for the Building Designers Association of Australia as part of the Sustainable Design Specialist Program with passive solar design and biophilic design.

We look forward to seeing you there,
