Workplace Giving Donating Shares More

Workplace giving is a simple and effective way to support Renew. Employees contribute a small portion of their pre-tax salary to renew and receive the tax benefit straight away, rather than waiting until the end of financial year. For example, if you donate $20, it will only cost you $12.60¹ and Renew will receive the full $20. In many cases, employers will match staff donations, so the value of your donation will double to $40 directly to supporting practical climate and sustainability actions in your community.

Donate shares

Did you know you can donate shares instead of cash?

ShareGift Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that provides shareholders with an easy and tax-effective way to sell your shares and donate the proceeds to charity. You don’t have to engage a stockbroker, there are no brokerage fees and if the value of your donation exceeds $50, you can nominate the Alternative Technology Association as your recommended charity to benefit from ShareGift Australia’s donations.

How to donate:

Download and complete the share sale donation form available on the ShareGift Australia website and remember to nominate Renew
Send the form directly to ShareGift Australia either via post to GPO Box 4370, Melbourne VIC 3001 or scanned, via email to info@sharegiftsaustralia.org.au.
ShareGift Australia will manage the sale of your shares through one of their supporting brokers and send you a receipt for tax purposes. All donations of $2 and over are tax-deductible.

How ShareGift Australia makes donations to charities

Each quarter, ShareGift Australia makes donations to eligible charities guided by the recommendations received from shareholders.

Donations received are pooled which enables ShareGift Australia to roiund up the donations they make to each charity. To date, all eligible charities nominated have received donations from ShareGift Australia greater than the amount recommended.
