National Adaptation Plan must tackle homes

Renew calls on the government to address the future climate resilience of homes.

Our research shows that a changing climate is set to have major impacts on home energy usage and resilience. Renew’s submission to the National Adaptation Plan issues paper argues that climate resilience must be embedded into the National Construction Code, energy ratings, and planning policies across all jurisdictions.

To meet the challenges of climate change mitigation and adaptation, Renew urges an ambitious strategy to accelerate and expand home energy retrofits, with a particular focus on households facing existing barriers such as renters and low-income households.
