Vic solar and solar hot water/heat pump rebates

The Victorian government has introduced a new rebate for residential solar power systems (up to $2225) and for solar hot water systems including heat pumps (up to $1000).

Importantly, this applies to systems installed now (on or after August 19, 2018). You pay the full price up-front and if you meet the eligibility criteria, you will be able to receive the rebate later.

It’s possible that eligibility criteria for this program may change in future, so if you’re considering installing one of these systems, it’s a good idea to get in quickly.

The hot water rebate is limited to only 6000 households, so we expect these will be quickly taken up. Alternatively, you could wait until mid-next year, when the government plans to introduce interest-free loans to install solar power systems (if re-elected).

Renew looks forward to working with the Victorian Government in the roll-out of the program and other complementary measures to ensure Victorians have access to cheap renewable energy.
