Presentation: Phil Alford’s presentation will focus on measures taken in his apartment and apartment block to improve its sustainability/carbon footprint, including thermal comfort, energy efficiency, solar PV system on the roof, choice of electricity provider, centralised hot water heating, dealing with waste, electric vehicle charging etc as well as seeking input and ideas from the audience.

Speaker: Phil Alford is a retired meteorologist/climatologist who has had an interest in sustainable living solutions for the past 45 years. His understanding of the current climate disruption problem has further sharpened his personal interest in those solutions. A former convenor of the Brisbane ATA (Renew) branch over 10 years ago, he is now more active in the political realm through the Queensland Greens and as a member of many other environmental organisations
