Presentation: Boats can always be described off grid tiny houses with the added complications of mobility and enduring the harsh environment of the sea which create additional challenges for the technology to meet. Mal would like to share his experiences and show you some of the marine products available now. Electric outboards, inboards, high efficiency refrigeration and boats that are now fully electric plus other exciting projects under way or in development will be presented.
Speaker: Mal Betts is the owner of Betts Boat Electrics and specialises in marine electrics. Mal considers himself fortunate to have been able to combine his life-long love of the sea and yachting with his electrical trade qualifications. He has been an active participant facilitating these changes manufacturing product to reduce the dependance on fossil fuel for over 30 years and now meets the ultimate goal of being able to propel a boat and power marine systems without fossil fuel.
