Presentation: We believe sustainable architecture should model itself on scientific discovery. To us, free thinking and experimental architecture, combined with rigorous testing and analysis, is a thing of beauty, and of progress. We aim for Anderson Architecture homes to be light-filled, comfortable year-round and beautiful. As a practice, we are proactive and accountable. We are naturally curious and embrace new technologies that lead to greater efficiencies in the design process, in construction and, ultimately, in the environmental performance of the buildings we plan and detail. Our work spans new homes and inner-city terrace renovations to off grid retreats and bushfire resilient homes. Our projects have been published widely in media such as Green and Sanctuary magazines, and have received a number of sustainable design awards. Projects to be discussed include, The Waverley House, The Cube, a few of Simon’s own homes where experimental ideas have been pushed and recent projects such as the Imprint House and Ferry Road.

Speaker: Simon Anderson B.Arch Hons UTS. Director of Anderson Architecture. The firm Anderson Architecture was formed by Simon in 2002 to explore domestic architecture with an emphasis on a connection with nature or biophilic design.
